Safari during the Whale Festival
From the 10 July to 14 PM, a safari is organized on the occasion of the whale festival. The start will be at the Cétamada center. A boat will be waiting for you with specialized guides on board. So, don't forget your cameras to take pictures of the humpback whales parading with their tails. Furthermore, these whales do not hesitate to jump next to the boat. If you are an experienced diver, scuba diving with these giant cetaceans will certainly be an unforgettable experience.

Exhibitions during the Whale Festival
During the Whale Festival, art exhibitions and fairs will take place in the town of Sainte Marie. Several stalls adorned with handicrafts will delight your eyes. So, you can buy some to make souvenirs. Most of these artistic products are made by hand, and they reflect the whales as well as the Sainte Marie island. Sainte-Marienne gastronomy is present at this fair. You can savor seafood specially concocted in the Sainte-Marienne way.

Entertainment during the Whales Festival
Sainte-Marie will be animated by concerts and parades during the Whale Festival. Ladies dressed in a kind of pareo or "lambahoany" will dance in the streets of this fabulous island. Watching these ladies closely, you'll see their faces are covered in 'Masonjoany', a kind of traditional makeup based on tree bark. Local singers will also delight this party. The atmosphere will be quite unique because, even their music reflects the image of whales.
