National culinary art in the spotlight
The legendary Andohalo garden on the heights of Antananarivo will house, of 23 the 25 September 2016, the third edition of the “Haify Mampihavana” gastronomic fair, organized by the Women tourism association for Madagascar(Wta).
Gastronomy enthusiasts will be served ! During these two days, around forty operators will offer typical Malagasy dishes and dishes. A great discovery for the public, who will be able to taste these culinary specialties from all the regions of the Big Island.
The event aims to promote the national culinary art and promote local products, making Madagascar famous, on the global gastronomic scene. As the name & rsquo; indicates, the “Haify Mampihavana” show wants to reconcile Malagasy people with typical Malagasy dishes. And at the same time introduce tourists to the gastronomic wealth of the country.
This year, the festivities will be under the aegis of the illustrious chef Mariette Andrianjaka who considers Malagasy cuisine to be a most fascinating art and science., that we must perpetuate for future generations.
For this third edition, Indonesia will once again be the special guest and this, thanks to its embassy and its diaspora. The public will thus be able to taste its traditional dishes which have many similarities with Malagasy dishes..
Beyond its gastronomic scope, the “Haify Mampihavana” show will highlight the tourist sites of the Upper Town of Antananarivo, starting with Andohalo Square, historic landmark of the capital.
