Due to the large number of hotel establishments in Madagascar that can not be classified according to standard international classifications, the assessment is done in star, it was invented another classification of hotel establishments, own in Madagascar, which is Ravinala.

As the number of tourists in Madagascar continues to grow each year (near 196 000 tourists 2010 and near 225 000 in 2011), and after the crisis 2009, many institutions have made their appearances in the country.
