Madagascar ready to host the World Championships of petanque

From 1 to 4 December 2016, Madagascar will host the World Pétanque with the participation of bowlers from 48 pays. A major event which will further increase the visibility of the Madagascar destination.

During these 4 days, the Big Island will attract the attention of the world, with tournaments in triplets and the precision shooting competition, scheduled for this 47th edition of the men's pétanque world championship. Madagascar will line up its best bowlers, in this case Christian "Nanou" Andrianiaina, Tita "Mims" Razakarisoa, Lova Rakotondrazafy and Hery Razafimahatratra.

For this world tournament, the Big Island is one of the favorites. We already have a crown on our list, unhooked in 1999 in Reunion by the triplet Christian Andriantseheno, Jean Randria-nandrasana and Kalias Oukabay. For this edition, the Malagasy selection intends to win the supreme coronation, to honor the country.

This sporting event will be broadcast in more than a hundred countries around the world.. It will offer an exceptional showcase to Madagascar and especially to its capital, Antananarivo. It is known that sporting events and tourism form a winning duo. The Mondial de Pétanque will therefore be able to project a good image that the country needs, to develop and especially to promote local tourism.

The party will be there throughout this World Cup. The organizers are planning a “fan zone” at the Palais des Sports and the Mahamasina Gymnasium, with several animations. Waiting for the World Cup to kick off, we can already get in the mood by watching the official clip of the event.
