The edition 2017 of the Whale Festival will take place from 8 the 16 July 2017 in Sainte Marie. A unique opportunity to discover this little paradise island in eastern Madagascar, its authenticity and incessant whale parade.
The Whale Festival has always been very popular and colorful. This edition will not derogate from the rule and include several cultural and sports events. Like the carnival parade, which remains the highlight of the festival. Several podiums will be installed on the course to allow festival -goers, specially from the island, to enjoy this show in better comfort.
In addition to football and pétanque tournaments, Trail and family hikes will be organized. And of course sea outings to admire the whales, Do you attach a festival. The behaviors of whales ranging from the strike of the caudal and pectoral fin or the rostrum with impressive jumps out of the water, will not fail to amaze the festival -goers and tourists this year once again.
On the occasion of this festival, Some local tourism operators offer promotional offers for resident or international tourists. In June, The Festival des Baleines will be present in Antananarivo on the occasion of the 6th edition of the ITM Tourist Fair, which will take place this year at the Village Voara (Former Francophonie).
The question of the preservation of whales and natural and cultural resources of the island of Sainte Marie will be at the center of the debates during the Whale Festival. The event is part of a logic of sustainable development, Theme chosen this year by the UN.
