Toamasina, second largest city in Madagascar, after Antananarivo, house the 13, 14,15 and 16 October 2016, the third International Fair of the 21st century. The Réunion Region will be the guest of honor of this edition 2016, which is part of the national celebration of World Tourism Day(JMT).

Located on the east coast of the Big Island, Toamasina is recognized as a preferred destination for international and national tourists. A welcoming city but also and above all a transit point to attractive tourist sites, to name only Foulpointe, Mahambo, Ambila Lemaintso and Sainte Marie, or places for walks for ecotourism such as the Pangalanes canal, the Andasibe nature reserves and Lake Rasoabe in Manambato.

By organizing the 21st century International Fair in Toamasina, the Ministry of Tourism, led by Minister Roland Ratsiraka, above all wants to create new markets and open the Grand Port to the outside world, by highlighting its main economic and tourist resources.

40.000 à 60.000 visitors will be expected during these four days. 6.000 festival-goers will also participate in the big carnival on Thursday 13 October 2016. On the program this year: conferences and debates covering the themes proposed by the World Tourism Organization(OMT) as well as various sporting activities, artistic and traditional.

Tourist circuits will also be on sale by the Toamasina Tourist Office, among other things, a short cruise in a motorized canoe on the Ivondro River, a quad hike to Ivoloina, and a bike or walking tour of the historic districts of Toamasina.
